Lost in Ontario: A Night in Arcana
You all know I love a unique cabin getaway so when I heard about Arcana, I knew I had to book a stay here! The moment they went live with their bookings, their dates filled up quickly and I was able to snag a night at this highly anticipated retreat. I’m here to let you know that it was worth all of the hype. It is truly a unique experience where modern meets nature. I loved every bit of my quick yet relaxing weekend getaway.
The Arcana Cabins consist of 3 beautiful mirrored cabins tucked away in nature. Arcana's goal is simple: They want to invite guests to reconnect with the beautiful outdoors and the super powers of nature. I can totally get behind that goal. I have long believed that nature is the cure to everything and I often find I am at my happiest when I am immersed in it.
Here's a recap on my stay!
Location:
The cabins are located in a secret location about 2 hours North West of Toronto. When you book your stay, the Arcana team will disclose the exact location.
The Cabins:
Each cabin is 275 square feet and includes a queen bed, kitchenette, bathroom and work table. The cabins also have a private deck with a fire pit. One of the most unique features is that the cabins are clad with polished stainless steel that almost makes them blend right in with nature, as if you were warped into a parallel universe. The cabins take on the shapes and colours of the surrounding forest, making each season a unique experience. My stay took place in the middle of Fall which provided a feast of the eyes with all of the colours reflecting off of the cabin.
Experiences:
Arcana's mission is to create experiences rooted in science and that are good for the soul. And with this in mind, they have created several relaxing experiences that are truly nourishing for the soul.
Hike: Arcana is surrounded by forests so it's the perfect location to explore and go on a hike. They have several hiking trails to choose from but my favourite was the Spirit Tree Trail that leads to the most beautiful tree.
Sauna: All guests receive booking windows for a 90 minute period to access the sauna and cold plunge pool. Rikki and I loved every part of this and it was the perfect way to unwind after a long day. I made several rounds from the plunge pool to the sauna and there's nothing more refreshing then repeating this a few times. I felt so at peace after this experience.
The Tea Pavilion Room: This room can also be booked for 90 minutes during your stay and is a relaxation room where you are able to cozy up next to a fire and sip on some tea. Super relaxing! The room was designed to be an analogue room where you can disconnect and press the pause button. They also have a record player (with instructions on how to use) so that you can take a step back in time and really connect to the simplicity of the moment.
I'll be honest, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect with this getaway. While I knew the cabins were beautiful and unique, parts of me thought that it would have been mostly all about the facade with its polished steel that reflects its surroundings. Truth is, I thoroughly enjoyed it here. As beautiful as it is on the outside, the Arcana team made sure they left no stone unturned with the overall experience and it was truly enjoyable.
Although they are currently booked up, sometimes dates pop up last minute so I would suggest getting on their waiting list. As I was writing this, an email came through from Arcana about a last minute availability so you never know!
